It’s time to recognize our active military!

Hello!
My name is Leonard Pitts. In support of the USO I will be delivering to the White House on Friday, July 1, 2001, a proposed Resolution that recognizes the Nation’s active military. I have walked over 500 – miles from my hometown of Clinton, S.C. to Washington, D.C. Click on the image to zoom in.

There are currently over 2.5 million men and women who serve and protect our Country each and every day. It is time for “We” – fellow Americans, to recognize these brave men and women.

We have a day that recognizes our Veterans and fallen Heroes. We feel it is fitting to also recognize our active troops and we hope you agree.

We have the support of the USO and all six Congressional districts in the State of South Carolina to include Senator Jim DeMint and Graham. We also have the support of North Carolina Senator Kay Hagan.

Furthermore, we have received additional proclamations from the Mayor of Greensboro – North Carolina, Mecklenburg County – North Carolina and Halifax County – Virginia.
